Shoot Etiquette (WIP POST)

There are a few unspoken rules when it comes to shoots, and I have briefly covered it in my photographers post. However, I feel that this subject is an imporant enough topic to have a post of it's own

Before The Shoot

- Plan, Plan, Plan. Shoots don't appear from thin air. People need to make time to do them. It takes time to prepare your costumes and your wigs. People also will not drop their plans just to accomodate your shoot (unless you're Hakken level but in that case, you won't be reading this guide will you?). These are things to figure out before you even attempt a shoot

1. What cosplay you're doing

2. What date and time

3. What theme

4. Location (if you have one in mind) [P.s. I have a locations resource for u here!]

- Contact your photographer to set the shoot (Lonely and got no photog? Here's a photog list I've curated). Draft a message containing the 4 details mentioned above POLITELY. They don't owe you shoots.

- Make sure you have your wig and costume prepared one day before.

1. I personally like to leave the house completely cos-ed up so that I can shoot immediately when I get to the location. If you have a morning shoot, prepare everything the night before. Pack everything you need and lay out/ attach all your accessories. Then you can sleep in without worry and redcue the chances of some mishap on the shoot day.

2. Missing accessories? Figure out how vibisble they are and if they really affect the final image. If it's just a small piece that will be barely noticeable, I'd advise not to cancel. You're gonna have to go through the headache of setting a time and date all over again for something so trivial.
